Summary of Events:

Celebration for the 150th Anniversary of the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame in the Diocese of Charlottetown.

The 150th Anniversary Celebration of the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame in the Diocese of Charlottetown was held on August 4th and 5th, 2007.

The celebration was attended by 280 persons, which included former teachers, students, boarders and staff who had been connected with the Congregation of Notre Dame in the Diocese. The large attendance was testimony to the Island community’s support and appreciation to the Sisters for answering the call of the Diocese to take on this ministry, which brought the sisters to Charlottetown in 1857, to establish a school for the education of young girls.

The Planning Committee for the celebration was comprised of representatives of the Congregation of Notre Dame as well as previous students of the Sisters of Notre Dame.
